Default Intake manifold

I have a 93 and the intake is leaking oil, I'm thinking about changing the gaskets myself over the winter is this a job for a weekend mechanic,or should I take it to a pro. Thanks Jim

I would give it a shot if I were you. It really isn't that difficult. I recently did this; learned a lot about my car. Granted, you have a different set up than my '88, but, if you have the time and the will to learn for future reference, save the $$$.

I agree 100% with Dave.

Did the same thing this spring on my 87 because it was leaking coolant. It was my first time doing something like this. Get yourself a GM shop manual, maybe even a Haynes manual to go with it. Between the 2 you have lots of pictures :D

It went smooth and was fun at the same time. Winter is a good time for this because there is no hurry, least not in my neck of the woods. Lots of help here on the forum.

I think it was Vettnuts who said "once you finish this you will be looking for stuff to do on it!"

You Should see the list I have now for this winter. :D :D :D

I would do it also. The money you save will buy the tools (if you don't have them) and a set of GM service manual that will basically hold your hand through the process. You will have money left over, some tools and manuals, and know more about your car. This is especially true if you can do it over the winter where you can take your time.
