Does anyone have experience with Royal Purple oil, in either late model cat cars or old school Hotrods or Race cars?
Any comments good, bad or otherwise?
For anyone who has used Royal Purple Racing Oil or XPR Racing Oil, in addition to any other comments, how clean did the engine look inside after running that oil for some time?

Thanks for any input you may have
86E here. "ROYAL PURPLE" I am running 5w30 in mine (in socal) and I'm doing fine. Engine smoothed out ALOT. Feels like it revs a little faster or it may just all be mental (probably is). My motor was just rebuilt but the body has 275K on it so the motor is still kinda worn and I haven't burnt any oil with it yet. So all in all I love it and am going to be using it from now on.
Seems to get nasty quick. Dark and smelly. I find Amsoil and Redline don't do this. I think it must dissolve some of the fuel/water vapor a little more than others.
It does make the car run smoother when you change the oil (like other oils too).
A famous racing engine builder around here, Ray Barton, only uses Royal Purple. He says his engines have barely any wear when Royal Purple is used vs. other oils. He knows what he is doing even though he primarly builds hemis. He probably changes the oil every race, so I don't think it gets dirty on him.
