Default Does Ecklers think I'm nuts or does everyone?

I bought Door Weatherstrip from them marked Corvette America.. for 84-96 model years. anyway I took the old ones off and the little tips that fit in holes around the dorr, 25 of them are not even close to being in the right places. The moulding is also about 6inches short but that could be stretching it... Anyone have this problem, maybe the holes are in the doors in different places for different years????

I have a 92 coupe.. Guess I need to by OEM...

I installed door weatherstripping recently and got mine from Ecklers. The fit was good but had to warm the weatherstripping some so it would fit okay. My invoice has 84-96 on it also. Sounds like you got the wrong stuff.

Looks like there might be a difference between your 89 and my 92... the little pins lined up with your holes?

I wouldn't buy anything from Ecklers. Good luck trying to return it.

In my experience, 84-89 are different to 90-96 only in the upper two ends where they fit under the horizontal black door trim.
The holes are in the same place on both model doors.
The pins are in the same place on both model ws.
You need to attach one of the ends so the ws can't move, then you stretch the rubber to fit the pins (probably blue ) one at a time.
Probably a good idea to put some adhesive on the four corners for a better fitment.
Your problem is probably not that you have the wrong ws, but you didn't stretch it while trying to get the pins to line up...just a guess...

That's one reason we call them "Heckler's". Marked in Corvette America packaging? Hmmm. Gotta just love those middlemen-upon-the-middlemen. Markup City.

It did say Corvette America on the packaging. The holes lined up and looked good when I got it on. After reading all the problems with Ecklers I will not order from them again.

I had the same problem with Ecklers. What you order is not neccessarily what you will receive! Sometimes they will send what they have that is close enough to what you want, instead of telling you "we are out of stock". Never loose a sale! This has happened to me with Ecklers so many times over the last year that I no longer order from them, and never will.

I think I saw their company motto on the back of the catalog...

Eckler's of America:

Turning your beloved Corvette into a loose bundle of Chinese parts one Ben Franklin at a time.

One thing you always want to make sure you do when dealing with anything with rubber components is to have the parts at least at room temp or even higher (lay them out in the warm sunlight if at all possible).
