Default Vapor Canister?

I bought a new vapor canister for my 86, GM part suppose to fit 70-90 the top is the same but when I got my old canister out it has a connection on the bottom with a 3/8 hose going into a T then 2 lines off that that are about 8" long and go no where. The new one is just open bottom with a fiber filter, and no 3/8 nipple, any one run into this and does it make a difference? TIA.... Rich

My 86 is the same. The two hoses do not connect to anything. Is there a way you can use the old connection? I don't think you will run into any problems.

It kind of looks like you could but I tried everything to get the bottom off the old one and it won't budge, so short of breaking it I can't get it off, I think your right it was probably set up to cover a carb model or something, and won't make a difference I'll keep my eye on it..Thanks
