Weak Horn
Slowly but surely working down the list of things to fix on my car... Now, I need to fix a weak horn. car is a 94 coupe. Horn blows but is fairly quiet. Any suggestions on where to start?

Horn
The sound from these horns are not very loud anyway. I just jumped an additional aftermarket "loud db" horn onto the existing wires and found a place to take out a bolt and mount it in the lower left corner of the front fender. No problem with the fuse.

Next time it rains, when it stops pop your hood and watch where the water goes. Yep, right onto and into the horns. I have the same problem, my left horn doesn't work anymore.

C$, I mean C4's have alot of great things about them... but thing horn thing is crazy... Thanks guys.

The left horn on my '94 is dead also. The left horn is the "F-note", or "low" tone horn. The "high" tone horn sounds really weak on it's own - maybe it's on the way out also. Since it was dead I took it apart and found a shorted coil.

Often it's the ground that's bad. On my '95 there is a separate ground wire. On earlier models (not sure when the switch was made), the ground was through the horn mounting bolt.
In either case, locate the ground, remove it and clean it thoroughly. Just like it was a battery cable. Clean both the eye bolt and the frame mounting point. Add a new washer if you can.
Hope this helps, it's free. And if it doesn't work you can always add a new horn later.
BTW, there's supposedly a service bulletin that GM stopped using star washers because they retained moisture and sped corrosion. Use whatever technique you can to get good contact and paint/coat the joint after refastening.

(at least on my 85) there should be a separate ground wire for each horn. clean the ground connections first. on my 85, the passengers side horn ground point had some corrosion, so, long story short - horn was not very loud - cleaned the (chassis) ground point, and everything was back to normal -
