Default Project "SGR LT4" Commences!!!

Date Performed: Sat Mar 17th
Work By: Me & Sam
Total Working Time 2.50 hrs

Work done:
Remove Exhaust - cut rusted bolts PIA!!
Uninstall Shifter from Trans
Remove Transmission - (180lbs) PIA!!!
Remove Bellhousing with damaged Clutch Fork (PIA!!)
Remove Clutch and Flywheel
Remove Driveshaft and Support brace
Remove Old Wheel Bearings/springs/brakes/halfshafts
Remove Dana 44 Diff. -
Install New Wheel Bearings with Hardened&Extended ARP Studs

Plans for this Thurs or Friday:

Reinstall D44 with new 4.11's
Install new Mcleod TwinDisk with SMFW conversion
Flush fluid and Reinstall Trans & Shifter
Install new Clutch fork
Inst. new Clutch slave cyl
Inst. new Adjustable clutch master cyl
Inst. New all U Joints
Inst. Polyurethane Bushings throughout car
Reinstall freshly rebuilt Bilstein shocks- Custom Moraca Valving specs.

nahh, we can get it done in one night... just cant have any salesman bothering us at our shop to do it.

The diff is being rebuilt by another speed shop and most of the simple things we'll do ahead of time= u joints, clutchfork, and a few bushings so it will be as simple and bolt in as possible... you know how that goes though

Then next week will be another big project- cam, top end, gaskets and seals and opti and elec w pump and......

I know, full suspension removal and rebuild. Entire bottom part of the car was gone.

Don't toss out the orginal flywheel. I would have the new flywheel matched balanced to the old.

This is its third clutch(orignal GM(when i bought it), then a new GM one 16k ago and now finally a good Mcleod ), the morons that did the last clutch didn't know how to or balance the last DMF and the car drove fine... no vibrations, so i think i wont have a prob, plus the Mcleod twin and SMF is all prebalanced together before they ship it to you- what ever that means
