I have a 1996 LT-1 auto. The engine is out and I have decided to dump the hot cam and go with the CC306. I am going to go with 3.07 gears to have decent gas mileage. Let me tell you....I have spent so much money on this car and haven't really done much yet.

My question now is, where can I get a torque converter for around 500 bucks that will match with my setup. (I'm almost out of money). I am looking for a balance between economy and acceleration. I drive the car every weekend and occasionally to work on nice days. (79 miles one way ).

Also, with this setup and stock tires....should I be in the low 12s?

$525 will buy a quality 9.5 inch lock up converter. I just bought one for myself and I just sent one to Goesfun in California.
$300 buys a 12 inch reworked stock converter.
Both can be stalled to suit the combo you need.

Pete k will hook u up with that price range, and since u live in PA heck u might pick up locally, he himself bought the same TC and pretty much same TC i have in my car too, pete drove mine and he love it specially from stop light with half throttle it flies.

With street tires probably u might go sideways and therfore slows ur ET, check Ebay for used drag radials for time being atleast.

So much money spent and so much more to spend, well this addiction will never stop, 12's than 11's than 10's .......so on. Good luck.
