I just got my heads looked at due to a blown headgasket and they checked out fine. It got me thinking on how much a head can be warped before it has to get machined. Does anyone know the exact number? I would think it would be so many thousands of an inch. I'm curious to know!
I was talking to my machinist friend, and he said that the blue felpro head gaskets have enough crush to take up head warpage to about
.005. He said that no warpage is the most desired, but the gaskets make the warpage factor a non issue unless it is severe.
