Master Cylinder?
Hello all. I was backing out of my drive today and my brake light came on. The pedal felt mushy, so I pumped it to regain pressure. Very slowly, the pedal sank to the floor. I repeated with the same result. Sounds like the classic bad master cylinder. All 4 wheels are clean and dry. What do you guys think? Thanks (1987 rdstr)

i too own an 87 ragtop and my brake pedal felt mushy one day.. i also heard a hissing noise when i depressed the brake pedal..in my case it was the power brake booster that had gone bad.
so listen carefully for any hissing and if it is there(drivers side floorboard area)..suspect the booster!
