Ed,
thank you very much for the info on the main hoop of the cage.
I appreciate it!!!
Yep. If you want to see a couple, and a C5 and how its mounted, go to www.thehpfactory.com. I can do that now, I'm a sponsor
The C4 monting was similar. If I recall the frame rail has a step at the bottom? I'll go look at the 2 we have in the shop.
Makes me think of a big block vette being built by "29th street auto wreckers" in Pueblo Colorado. If you can find Todd Fredricks on this forum he can figure it out.
i take it that the engine side part of the A/C evaporator housing was left off for engine clearance?
if so, why did they even bother bolting up a compressor to it??
That may be a car built at Arizona Speed and Marine in the mid 90s by a friend of owner Jim Shofner.
Big block (468?) w/ a ASM tuned port. The car I saw there was originally an '84 or '85 I believe.

Funny you should mention that. Its an 84 with a later model rear fascia. You know anything else about it? Maybe I'll call em and see if they keep vin numbers. We've run into some not-so-nice stuff in the engine set up. I hope they wouldnt have built something like this. But then again, ya dont know whos been in it since it was completed.
We're making headway with Dave's. Its no where near like it was when I first saw it. Idles alot cleaner. She was so rich at idle before, it just smoked sittin still!! Motor is very solid. Did a leakdown and compression test. Been doin some low speed low RPM tuning to try and smooth it out more.

I worked at ASM while Jim's friend (name escapes me) built this car in our shop over a period of several years. Call and talk to Jim Shofner, owner of ASM, he's intimately familiar with this car and did the motor, etc.

Thanks a bunch!! I just learned more about this thing in the past 5 minutes than I knew about it after talking to anyone around here.
Props to Digital Disaster. AND proof the Forum works!!!
This is good to hear. Hopefully you'll have that 84 down there when I come back down. That's a BA looking C4

Don't fix it too soon, I'm still trying to buy it!
Come on man...... You cant post that without some details. What engine size? Whats the HP? What does it run? Look exceptional under the hood!!
Very nice ride!
WE got ours running on all 8. We confirmed it is the car built by AS&M. It is a 540 CID. We have to remove a large bracket plate from the front of the engine to weld it up. The alternator needs another bracket, it broke the plate from the belt tension. After that, we will get it on the dyno. Will try to post a sound clip, and dyno results.
On another note, we will run Daves (jerkyboy) first thing monday. So, maybe he'll post his results as well. I got something in store for his!! Should be some good before and after test results. Stay tuned!!
