Asumimg this is the right part in the EGR tube,I found the wire broken.I just got the car last night, test drove, drove home (not in the same day),drove it to work 48 miles and no problems.Took it to lunch and and it kept sputtering (posted on this earlier)and would die at stop lights. If I turned the car off and restarted it would run fine tell I had to stop again.Does this sound like I found the problem(have not had a chance to buy the new yet)?
A tip by Gordon Killebrew led me to discover that the threaded insert
had begun to come out of the EGR sensor (1pc - pn# 14087415)
located in the shielded tube that enters the intake manifold on the
passenger side near the distributor.
Aside from the code, there were no driveability issues in my case.

Read this to check for a stored code http://members.shaw.ca/corvette86/No...it%20Check.pdf
The ALCL is above your right knee when sitting behind the wheel.
I have no EGR and the wire to switch is taped and tucked away. No issues for me so I'm thinking your problem may be elsewhere.
Check for a code.
