I have a 94 LT1 speed about 90K miles. I finally got a brand new DM flywheel to cure my clutch problem. I need to replace my main seals, the clutch, flywheel, one of the header gaskets, and my opti. I plan on cleaning out the radiator and shroud whiles it's all apart. I am considering installing a cam and required lifters while I am at it. And as long as water pump is out, it will be replaced.
The question....should I just pull the motor and do all of this? Are there any other items I should consider if I go ahead and yank the motor? For example. oil pan gasket
If I don't do it myself a buddy of mine owns his own service center and used to work at a Chevy/Caddy dealer and is very familiar with my model car. We have talked about it and he is going to do the work to fill in the time and for undertable cash.
Depends if you think you can do a good job with the main seals. Everything else seems reasonable. You should change those spark plugs when you get the manifold off.
I think you almost have to pull the motor to do the cam. But the motor is a lot of work to pull. so many wires...
