Default what is wrong with the ACCEL injectors

I have posted a previous problem with my car when I hollowed my cats. But I have been reading some other posts and I am just wondering what is wrong with accel injectors you get from summit??? I bought some of these when I first got my car, and installed them about 6 months ago. What is the deal with them?

Seems like a higher percentages of failures than most, or at least we hear about them more often. I wouldnt spend money on them again but Im sure there are many sold that are fine. Just my experience.

Mine are fine - about 5 or so years old now but not many miles.
When I bought them, I experienced a problem that others were posting at the time. That was small pieces of plastic flashing under the upper o-rings left over from production. Even though I removed the o-rings and inspected the tops closely, still missed one and when I energized the rail to make sure all was tight, one leaked. Had to unbolt and reinstall, no problems since.

For some reason their quality is just crap, I've lost count of how many people have had them fail, sometimes just a few months after install.

I have sold several sets and haven't had any problems. I can't see where they would have any more problems than other Bosch injectors. Accel don't manufacture injectors, they have contractors such as Bosch, or Delphi or Seimens build their injectors. Their latest designs are using a disc valving mechanism rather than a standard pintle valve such as a Bosch style injector.

I totally understand why you have been steered away from Accel injectors. However, I have some new information that you may wish to consider.

I worked for Accel DFI in the R&D dept. While I was there, the Accel injectors which had developed a reputation for poor quality were completely redesigned. Anyone at Accel would tell you just like Bryan Herter did that the yellow-top injectors are complete garbage.

However, the new injectors have truly turned this around. Manufacturing tolerances and tests have improved significantly. The injectors are much more consistent, offer a better spray pattern, and are not prone to leakage problems and low-speed control issues like the yellow-tops were. I am not sure if Bryan knows this or not. I am sure that the Accel injectors that were sold for many years scared people away from the brand forever, but the issues are truly resolved at this point.

The Mr. Gasket Performance Group is the only stop you need to make for all of your automotive performance needs. We are a manufacturer, not just a re-distributor of products. We conceptualize, develop, manufacture and market our products in our own facilities, where actual enthusiasts are involved in the process first-hand.

I'vr never used them and havr no direct experience with them, but I've read enough bad posts on here about them to steer me to FMS injectors instead.

I wouldn't use Accel or Python, either.

They do make their own gasket line, but even some of that is farmed out. Take for instance their MLS gasket line, those are ALL manufactured by Cometic.
