OK guys i pulled my PROM it has a sticker that says Delco AKFS 2194. Can this identify if it is from an auto or manual car? Is there anyway to read the PROM through the OBDI port?

A whole new can of worms... This ecm(1227165) and PROM(AKFS 2194) are in my 84gmc pickup with an auto 700r4, 3.73 gears and a 350 v8. do i need to get a different PROM or reprogram mine? or will it be ok?

Well your load tables will be all off, heck even the spark ramping on a 305 is different than a 350. And probably a lot different from your 350.. Yeah you should tune it.
'88 is $32B which is with cold start. I'd run a prom from a '89 car with vats disabled ($6E). You get the faster 8192 baud datalogging, crank pulse starting (faster starts), and some better code to work with. You should check out thirdgen.org for info on tuning, or find someone local to tune it for you.
Isnt an 89 vette a MAP sensor vehicle? Would it matter because I am running a Mass Air Flow setup.
'89 should be MAF, $6E.. At least, the firebird is in that year. Who cares about the vette stuff, you don't need any of the additional functionality.
In fact, I know '89 was MAF in vette too cuz thats where the ARAP bin comes from, which is a vette MAF bin with a ton of spark advance to make the magazines at the time say "wheeeeeeeeeeeee"..
You need to get a memcal adapter (G1 from moates.net), and either a burner or an emulator, and start doing some tuning.
I know this is an older post and I may get the same answer but I have to ask I purchased 95 lt1 motor an ECM and harness that was a auto car. But my 92 is zf 6 speed got everything bolted up an motor an trans dropped in. what will I have to change in the auto ecm to make it work for my 6 speed if anything at all.

Most likely will have to get it flashed ( re-programmed ) with a manual tune ;
not because of engine operational problems but because the '95 PCM controlled the shifting of the 4L60E auto trans
( '92 ECM only controlled the convertor lockup in the non electronic 4L60) so the PCM will be looking
for feedback inputs from the trans which is not there.
IIRC; the only connection from the PCM to the ZF6 ( other than the VSS for speed indication) is
the CAGS 1 -4 lockout which most guys bypass anyway
Thanks for your help I appreciate the info, I also have heard of the first to fourth bypass. A gm dealership should be able to flash the ecm for me right? I shouldnt have to buy a new one correct
