Neither does the Hankook site mention any affiliation with Kumho.

I think someone gave someone some bad info.

Interesting...I'm not usually wrong but I just may be this time

I am well versed in Korean automotive companies as that's how I make my living. I am sure I read that they were affiliated, but apparently I need to check my facts.

Thats a pretty stupid question mate, i wouldnt have made such a direct comment if i hadnt. The car came with 2 new HTR 40Zs on it when i bought it and they were rubish. The Hankooks have got it all over them without question. The car wandered alot more with the Sumitomos, they didnt stick nearly as good, yet they wore down quite fast.

Well, Case, you know it's always good to hear things directly from the person themselves! As for me I've had good luck with Firestones, but it's always good to hear about others. Cheers!

I know mate yes it is. I would recomend the Hankooks with the confidence youll get everything you pay for with these tires. I dont know what sort of price the Sumitomo HTR-40Zs go for but it would want to be alot less than the Hankook Ventus SPORT considering what i got out of them (not even 18 months of street only use and one was almost slick, the other wasnt far behind) Not to mension the fact the Sumitomos are just plain ugly tires where as the Hankooks are decent looking....

I cant comment on the Firestones, we dont get them over here.
