I have a check valve that snapped in half (corrosion) on the air line that runs to the cat. When going to remove it, the tube going to the cat twisted on me (backout wrench slipped). D'oh!
I know many of you have deleted the A.I.R. pump, could I actually just run that air hose straight down and not affect my emissions? I'm thinking serious about getting the pulley now after this, but I wanted to make sure that I'm not about to do something bad to cause failed emissions until I get the delete setup.
I have a cat pipe with the check valve for $45 plus shipping if you are interested. If Texas does under hood inspections and uses a mirror for under car mods, you are sunk.

Make sure and plug the air tube on the cat. The rest doesn't matter. You can just leave it there. If the smog pump is pumping into an empty pipe in the engine compartment, you'll hear it, so either run it out the cat tube, gut it, plug it, or unhook the diverter valve harnesses so it pumps out the muffler by the waterpump.
