I have a 1988 and my wife was driving it last night and the windshield started to fog up or at least she thought it was fog at first. Then the whole car filled up with smoke/fog. The entire windshield was covered with some kind of film that wouldn't wipe off very well.
Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen?
Sure sounds like heater core. Do a search for the "Fast Guy Method". The manual tells you to take half the car apart when you really don't have to. If you decide to tackle the job yourself, let me know. I did mine a few weeks ago and it's about a 2-3 hour job, if all goes smooth.

I would not attempt fast guy method or FSM method unless you have some good mechanical experance. I understand this is a killer. I plan to pay the $600.00 or so and let the experets do this one.Remember you have to put it back together when your done, that usally the hard part.

I don't think the "Fast Guy" method will work on a 88. I have detailed instructions. Email me at radhunter@hotmail.com.
