Any of you guys had problems with the fit? Bought mine over 1 year ago...believe it was one of the first production pieces. Don't know if that matters. Been rubbing my hood ever since...tried moving it up,down, side ways,etc... With NO LUCK:mad: Talked to BPP(Larry,Ernie) hard for those guys to pin point the problem over the phone.:(
Could someone post pics of their Vortex? How much space do you have under the Black induction piece? Thats the problem area for mine...I have removed the rubber piece under the hood.
Pics or pointers?
Mackey, I already know what you are going to say:D
The two small lines in the middle of the black induction piece is where the problem is.:(
Tried everything:(
Anybody know of another company that makes RAM AIR for the LT1s? This one might be for sale.

mine has been ok, though I have an L98 and got it within the last few months. The see through air box broke though, and Ernie sent me a new one free when I ordered the Smug pump puley which is great.
Good luck finding a fix. I have the same problem. I made a little more room by changeing out two of the bolts for ones that were treaded all the way to the head, but still have a small amount of rubbing. I am waiting for someone to make a good box, or I will make one out of sheet metal.
Glad to see I'm not the only one....:) I believe the black induction piece was made wrong.....wrong angle. The angle going into the filter is not right. The quality of the C5 Vortex is so much better...wonder why the C4 was made so much cheaper
For the rubbing, no. The housing was at the lowest point it could possibly go and it still rubbed. I got "the fix" from breathless and it made a cheap looking piece of plastic look cheaper. But it fixed the collapsing around the hose connection.
A month or so ago, they offered to refund anyone who wasn't satisfied with their Rammer. I took them up on it. To their credit, they were easy to work with and get the refund.
You can check on the BPP board on the forum and see if the post is archived about the refund.
Luckily, the factory filter housing covers the hole left by the Rammer. I plan on getting or making another cold air system, so I'm not too concerned about the hole. I was just happy that I didn't sell the Rammer used and take a bigger loss.

NOPE, NO WAY, NO HOW, NOT ME, I don't comment on this topic anymore :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel:
Like mine just fine. Only problem I had was when a dealer mechanic removed and replaced the system when he replaced my radiator. When he re-installed it he pinched the rubber causing a gap for dirty air to enter. He also over-tightened the clamp and caused the dreaded warping of the lip. Installed the mod that BPP had already sent me and solved the problem. Didn't notice it being any uglier since it is covered with rubber. Zora, where did you get your intake hose? Is it the "Air Blaster"? I tried everywhere to get one a couple of years ago and was told they quit making them.

Yes....that is the Air Blaster :yesnod: Had it for a few years now. I guess whenever BPP makes it back to Bowling Green... I will have them look at my problem. :(

There is only one topic on the BPP board even when viewing ALL. Looks like they've deleted any older posts. And there is certainly nothing about a refund offer on their own web site.
Mine still works, I guess, but I'm very disappointed with the overall quality and el-cheapo flimsy construction of the unit. For $279 one should expect much more.
I may go back to an open filter lid with K&N someday.
