when i purchased the car the od was working but now when i press the switch it doesent do anything,is there any way i can check to see if its the switch (i dont knew if it might have a bad relay or something) ,i would hate to spend a 100$ on it if its not the switch.

If the car is warmed up, it's either the switch or the wiring to the relay. There's two same ones next to eachother, left of the brake booster. Front one is for the overdrive. PM scorp508 for where to get the switch for cheap.
To test the relay and relay connections, put the car in diagnostic mode and see if the overdrive light comes on.
I did this because with my new 383 if the OD ever tried to switch in and out the torque would blow it immediately. This makes it a direct link to the switch, instead of the switch asking the ECM if it can happen. Also, on mine the plug that goes into the OD unit was damaged from years at road level and had to be fixed because it made a bad connection.
