Default 85 throttle body cleaning

OK all
i just did a search and saw a lot of recomendations to clean the throttle body but didnt see any on how to clean it

i am having idle surges andi had a few poeple tell me that i need to clean the throttle body

is this a task anybody can do or should i take it to somebody
what is involved
does the throttle body need to be removed to clean or will running something like seafoam through it do the JOB

You can do both ways....remove or in place... in place get some TB cleaner, high rev and clean, but best to remove, scrub, clean... Idle could also be the IAC needs to be cleaned and along with that the TPS will need to be reset... anyone can do this

Pick up a can of TB Cleaner (NOT Carb Cleaner) at Auto Zone.

Remove the MAF & TB bellows, open the throttle and wipe out the TB bore & blades. Some cotton swabs may help get into tight areas.

Might want to pick up a new set of IAC gaskets, and replace the coolant hose that connects to the front of the TB if they look to be in rough shape.

thanks all....afterreading what i posted i figured iwas gonna get ripped
i already knew how to clean while it was on i was looking at doing the full clean. like my repair manual says.

were is the IAC located

The IAC is just below the throttle position sensor. I suggest you remove the TB, it will make it easier to remove IAC and to do a full thorough cleaning.
