Default A/C question

Can you tell me the difference between a 1988 compressor/clutch and a 1990to 1996?

The compressor was "upgraded" from '87 to '88; I thought they kept the same compressor at least through '91...

Essentially they're all the same - Compressor is the Nippondenso Model 10PA20C. The LT motors (92 up) have a different manifold (it faces forward) and probably uses sealing washers for the main hose instead of o-rings. I know there are different clutch #'s but they all use the same diameter coils and 2 pin connectors. My guess is that some may have the diode in the coil, the others are in the connectors. The diode keeps it from frying parts when the clutch disengages.

Just finished 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours. I think with nitrous, I can get it done in less than 2.
