Default throttle lag?

well i was reading a different thread an thought id post my own an get some answers hopefully....well i have a 96 vette wit only 87k miles on...cars temp is round 207-220 and i have nothin down to it but only k&n filter with open air box and took the screen off the mass airflow sensor...i live in florida..an last time i ran my car it wen 14.0 at 98mph..i have 3.07 gears in a 60degree cold night...someone said check the throttle cable so i did an the throttle opend up about a hair or two...anyone think anythings wrong here?

Why yes, if your throttle only opens a hair, of course there is a problem.

im sorry...i ment i had someone sit in the car an press the peddle all the way down while he did that i checkd to see if the throttle was all the way open...an yes it was...BUT i checkd to see if it really was an yes of course but it had about a hair or two more to go..understand or no?..thats wat i ment lol sorry

OIC, in that case, no problem. A hair or two won't effect wide open throttle performance. If you suspect a throttle problem, checking to be sure the TPS (throttle position sensor) is set to the right volts might be worth checking. It sounds as though the car is slower then it should be in the 1/4 but that would depend on the 60 foot time to.

my 60 is 2.05...you think maybe cuz i weigh 200pounds an have an amp an two 12in subs mounted on sepreat semi heavy boxes in the back makin me slow?...lol...i was jus think...what if i buy hypertech 160° thermostat in..would i have to tune the car or wat not?

No you wouldn't need a tune, the 160° 'stat is fine. You may not run cooler with it since your temp. is pretty far over the stock 'stat.

well stock temp is 236 thats wat gm had it to...not my car i mean but my temp that usally is 207-220 is good..an iv talkd to other vette guys an they said that the 160 stat would work fine cuz the car would run 180...now if i bought a 180 would that be good? an how much would the temp be?...180 or more?
