Default new guy needs help

hello ya'll;
I have just got a 1984 vette, and would like to up grade it to run in a street bracket class.just looking at it looks as if I can take the cross fire injection off and put on a hi-rize intake. I'm not worried about room under the hood as I will be adding a hood scoop of some kind. what I need to know is how to by-pass the computer. this car won't be run on the street so not worried about it passing state inspection.once I have new intake in place also will be taking the cats and muffers off.now for the rear gears, is the rear end like the one in my camaro?I have changed the gears in it but not sure about the vettes.only want to put a 3.73 ring gear in it belive this will make the car run much better.not looking for a 6 sec car but would like it to run better than it does now.

thanks
Jax

Long story short... You can have a lot of fun embarrassing L98s LT1s and LS1s with a well tuned Crossfire. This one, below, has two Wallys it earned bracket racing. It runs in the Street Legal, Heavy, class and the Summit ET, Sportsman, class. It isn't fast but it is fun and inexpensive. A good part of the fun is getting it to do things most people don't think can be done.

RACE ON!!!

There's another thread running now about going to a carb. I recall a response that all the dashboard gizmos will continue to work except for the instant MPG reading. Check it out.

You'll probably have to swap out the high pressure fuel pump to one that'll work with a carb though.

Years and years ago I tried using regulators to cut the pressure but I didnt have good results doing it that way. I installed a 468 BB with a850 double pumper in an 86 TPI Trans Am and used two Holley regulators to try to knock down the fuel pressure. Never worked well.
