Default Cam

Hi, im hopeing someone can give me an idea of what cam i should put in my 94 vette-auto trans, 3.07 axle
I live in BC Canada and have aircair an emissions test to go through evey two years so i cant go to crazy.
I was looking at comp cams and i do have a set of crane rockers with a 1.6 ratio go go with the cam.
Would a Bbk 52mm tb be a good idea also.
Any Suggestions?

My suggestion is a hydraulic roller with a duration of 218/224 @ .050 on 112 of wider LSA (perhaps 114). Get one of CompCams Xtreme series designed for a fuel injected engine. That's about as much as I'd dare go with emissions to consider.

Well if you didn't already have the rr's I say just go with the GM LT4 Hot Cam Kit

I just bought the exact Cam.See Dan's Comments I also have stock heads

You'll need some decent springs in there.

Take a look here to see the spring pressure they recomend - http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1110&sb=0

My calculator predicts the same peak Torque and 36hp peak. But the real difference is the curves. By 6000rpm it says the stock cam is producing 229 ft/lb torque where as the XFI cam still has 281 ft/lb.

This shows that it deffinately thinks your heads can "flow" well enough for this cam, just make sure you have the springs to deal with it. Thats for an otherwise stock engine. Any other mods that improve breathing with further the difference between the two cams.

Dyno Graph attached.

A real winner. Bet you can find just a cam at a very reasonable price in the Parts section.

Default lt1 LT4 HotCam and related stuff

Installed the LT4 Hot Cam kit with shorty headers. Nobody told me on the forum that the computer would need to be retaught how to idle once this was done. Up to a tuner with a rough idle car. Heinz racing in Mooresville, NC got it dead nuts on. THEN you have to buy a different prom in the computer to the tune of $75 to get the computer to know on an automatic that there is some mods made. The computer hears the cam and headers and retards the timing. End result is 309rwhp and 311 rwtorque. Tune on dyno was $450 bux. Stock hp with headers was 245rwhp and 300torque.
Was it worth it-YES-what a lump it has coming outta the corsas.

Specs are almost identical to the one Jake (RIP) listed just less lift.
The Spring kit is super cheap. Check out Pace Performance Parts, GMPP etc maybe the guys here have a favorite they like to go through.
Yes you gotta retune it too the computer doesnt just learn things

The LT4 Hot Cam Kit has the springs in it and shims and spring keepers. I may have spent a little extra loot for the kit from Summit, but they gave me the best deal and i felt like if GM put the kit together that it should be a totally compatable kit rather than buy parts from different places and spend your time looking up what may or may not work together.
