Dieing Problem
It Will Not Start In Neuteral. The Dash Goe's Blank Untill I Turn The Key On And Off. Does Anybody Have A Answer For Me?
Thanks In Advance

1. ignition
2. fuel system
3. poor grounds
4. defective charging system
5. loose connections
6. bad ignition switch
7. bad engine computer
8. bad relay
Try tapping on the dash right next to the headlight switch and see if that does anything for the dash problem. there's a ground right behind that area, and disturbing it may yield results.
your dying problem sort of sounds like a bad maf power relay or intermittant fuel pump. check it out.
I'm shooting from the hip - my co-worker had this same problem in her jeep cherokee which caused me to read this thread. She replaced the fuel pump - still has the same problem.
Fuel System (Fuel Pump)
If it died and then restarted with no problem, it might be a grounding issue. Obviously, if the fuel pump ground goes open ... it would stop, you'd lose fuel pressure and the engine would stop. It would make an interesting test to pull the fues to see if it would sputter and stop or just stop.
Fuel Pump (Fuel Injectors)
If all the fuel injectors have the same ground wire (not sure) and that ground was bad (corrosion), same as above; it would stop.
Passage of Time
If a little bit of time passes and you crank the starter, perhaps you get a current surge that will cut through the corrosion ... and the car starts.
Dash Goes Blank:
This one like a bad ground - check the battery ground cable.

Question: 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Mileage: 90,000. Occasionally, after continuous driving such as highway driving, the engine turns over when I stop the car. Engine starts again at N or P, but it stalls again and again at D or R for a while (3~4 minutes). Dealer could not find anything wrong. Dealer just suggests replacing fuel pump. However, starting engine is no problem at all. I changed the fuel filter, but it is still happening. Thank you.
Answer: We are a little confused by your question. You stated that you have a 1988 Corvette with a 2.9 V6 engine. We believe your car should have a 350 V8. Assuming it has the V8 and an automatic transmission, then the problem may be the lock-up torque converter in the transmission. The converter locks-up only in high gear. It is supposed to disengage at lower speeds. Yours is not disengaging. There is probably a valve in the transmission “hanging up”. Having the transmission serviced with new fluid may help the problem. Next step, the valve body will have to be removed and cleaned paying special attention to the TCC solenoid. The TCC solenoid may have to be replaced.
Let us know what you find.

With all of that. Also, check to make sure the positive battery lead is secure at the starter. A loose connection can do that.
