today i was at a red light when i saw this young punk in a bmw racing behind me in my rear view mirror, when the light turned green he sped by me and starting laughing with his buddy,i said f**k it! the next red light went next to him and said you wanna go,he asked howmany hp i had i said don't matter,do you want a piece of me?...he said yes and revved his supped up engine,we took off i was peeling left to right as i was advancing,to say that i killed him was not an exageration but he actually thought he was going to win and tried to pass me all the way home,lol...
do you guys notice that everyone wants to try a vette?
lol
which beemer was it? you do have to be careful though if you see a big sedan pull up and it has an M on it. (or any other tuner plate)
some of those tuner machines are 350-400hp.
Course if it was a 3 series.. stomp 'em
he said he had over 300 just before we went at it,i figure just cause some cars say 300 or more it also makes the difference with torque, just my opion and observation
thanx
Torque can make alll the difference in the world. that is why some of these kids with the
ricers claim HP, but in reality that isn't doing a thing for them since it isn't turning the
tires so to speak. For my car the torque is over 300 (stock)
that is why they call it the stump puller.
I have 3:07 gears so it might be a bit better than the base gears.
Excuse me?!? Why would anyone say something so rash and discriminating on a public forum? Jusdging by your sig, I imagine you dont' really care about being "PC". Not only do I own a BMW, I know plenty of other owners and if they were all a-holes then I wouldn't associate with them would I? Hell, 25% of the cars in the parking lot here at work are BMW's. Have you ever driven one? They are the epitome of creature comforts, and the motor is no slouch either.
I read your disclaimer "for the most part" but I still think it was an out of line comment, especially since the descriptive word you used was so strong.
Then again, maybe I'm an a-hole myself......
Now then, as for the race, I see this kind of thing all the time. Why do people think that when you beat them and back off they win if they still pass you at 250mph? It's hilarious and it happens all the time. Just watch out for supercharged M3's (more and more of them out there) and the new M5's, although most owners won't push those to the limits for fear of hurting something.
An old Jaguar tried to mess with me the other day, it had 4 people in it. I was going on cruise at 70 mph and was edging around this car, I got about 1/4 length in front of him and I noticed I was no longer passing him. He then started to speed up. Yawning I dropped it into 5th and lightly pressed the gas, he was no longer overtaking me. I then looked over, smiled, waved, dropped it in 4th nailed it. I let off when I got up around 110, they came back up beside me, hit the horn, waved and went their merry way.
It was kinda cool, I think they just wanted to know if I would do it. Had I been really in the mood I would have gone for 3rd.
