THe PKE light on my car is on and I am unable to get it to flash when trying to program the fob. When I gorund the OBD to get the codes, it does nothing. THe light will go off if I take out the key and reinstert.
THen if I repeat it will go on. The chimes dont work either. I am figuring the module is bad along with the chme attached, and I have both orderd (from someone on here, thanks)

How do I take off the dash to get to these parts? Can I test the old part and new part out of the car?

I also have the problem just as you described it. I was wondering if you found a fix for it.

Mine did this for a long time, couldnt program, couldnt get the chimes to work. I put a dime or penny in between the battery and the case to ensure it is tight inside the FOB and it has worked flawlessly.
I was told by dealerships it was the module inside the dash about 9 years ago. Try ensuring the battery is tight in the FOB/PKE first.

I cured my PKE light problem by just removing the PKE fuse. The whole system is a headache and it has nothing to do with how the car runs. Screw the PKE!
