EGR Tube flare type, fitting ring
I tried compressing the ring using various pliers and wire cutters (front and side) without complete success -- there was an exhaust leak. The CF archives identified the tool required. I purchased it and am happy to say that in two minutes, all was fixed. Here are the details from the Grainger site. Note that the picture is misleading because it does not show the unique design elements. You need to see it from the top and side. It really did the trick.

I dont know what it was...for some reason the ring I bought was so tough the tool would not easily squash it down all the way,no matter what I did.
JUst wanted to pass along if you have another set of tools like a small bolt cutter or etc it might do the job as well.
You can get them used and cheap from slavage yards, etc if you ever wanted to upgrade to that style.
