Maybe one could be found in the "Help" section at the auto parts store? It should be a common GM part. I know that you can get one from PerformanceDistributors dot com.
Car Quest always has a variety of them in stock. Check with Summit Racing, they sell HEI distributors, and have to sell the connectors for them.
Also check with MSD, they have to have them, and Painless Wire. THey make the harnesses for retrofit.
Thanks guys for the input. I found them online at Summit (thanks to coupeguy2001) and I have a NAPA store very close to me (thanks to vinnie). Problem will be solved toay
Mine was broke for years. It's amazing how well it stayed in there. Guess I should have fixed it before I sold the car. It'll be peace of mind knowing it's fixed and will prevent any problems.
I went to quantity 2 friendly NAPA stores and asked for a GM HEI battery plastic connector. Both places said they could not help me. My son used to be a NAPA salesman and was certain that NAPA carries this part ........but Carquest did not have the part.
I then ordered a Summit part and it only cost $5.49 for a pigtail of red wire (8" long) with a terminal and the needed white plastic connector. Shipping was free, but the packing and handling was only $10.00! Bet you can estimate this bill!
The pigtail arrived and had a black wire....and I wanted Red! Got to looking at the pigtail assy and noticed the plastic connector could easily be removed form the terimnal and wire. Using a paper clip (wire diameter was .046 inches), I was able to remove the new connector form the Summit part and then put the new plastic connector on my old wire. I took me longer to open the hood than to replace the white plastic part
