86 transmission trouble

86 transmission trouble
I have an 86 that is having transmission issues. I was told by a transmission guy that my governor may be stuck. The car wont shift out of first. Can someone give me any ideas? I dont know what other info you may need to help me.

Yup that was my problem, i was playing with a BMW by my way and all of a sudden i only had first. Guy at a shop that i found on the national corvette registry diagnosed it and said," yup it's your governer gear thinking the next gear is neutral." Fixed it and it drives like a dream now.
