Ok, I have brought this up before but never get much input..
My hood when I pull the latch, will unlatch the drivers side. Pull the latch the second time It will unlatch the pass side.
Its starting to get worse on the pass side.
I dont think its the cable because.
If the hood is open and I look in the hood release holes.
I pull the hood release latch. I can see the drivers side and pass side FULLY open. Which should mean that it is working properly.
So why does it not work properly if the latch is opening fully ?
I have been adjusting my passenger side a few times trying to find the correct position. Keep trying and see if you can find the sweet spot. It is an annoying problem but I have been learning to just adjust as I go.
I believe you can adjust the position of the pin attached to the hood.
I have not done this, but I think it is possible.
Yes, you can adjust the pin. I had the problem of the pass side not latching when I dropped the hood to close it. I adjusted it and no prob now. I also adjusted the drivers side because it was rattling a bit.
There is a big nut on the hood around the pin. Loosen that a little and then you can turn the pin with a screw driver. There is a slot in the bottem of the pin. Retighten the nut. Keep doing this until you get the adjustment you need. I don't know if this will work for your problem as mine was with closing.
With my hood open, the release arms both retracted well too. But when under load, one side often stuck.
On mine, I found the plastic cable clip (on the release handle) was breaking down causing the cable casing to slip a little bit. Got worse over time.
I agree that the pin adjustments are important (and greasing them up as well). Because there's a large load on the release arm, fatigue on the system caused my 'weakest link' to fail.
