ok guys, my AC is ALRIGHT, cold but not freezing, its about to start getting hott here in raleigh NC. i was looking at autozones cheap little cans of AC charging. can i use somehting like that to charge my AC or do i have to take it in and have someone charge it. if i can use those little cans to charge it, how do i do it, where do i plug it into? not really an engine guy at alllll. thanks fellas
If you're car uses r134a type cooling then yes, the cans at autozone are perfect. If you buy the kit it will come with a pressure gauge, connector and some have an instructional dvd/video.
You don't say what year you have so I can't tell you if your car has 134a or r12.
The only reason a recharge is expensive is if you need to get something replaced, or if you have r12 in your system and choose to have it recharged with that.
