After removing, painting & re-installing my shifter console & instrument panels (89 vert) I decided to check for whatever reason to see if the cigarette lighter continued to work. No sooner did I press it in the entire instrument panel lights flickered. After which I discovered the interior courtesy lights, radio, A/C & heater controls stopped functioning. I checked the fuses but all were fine. Any idea as to what is going on?
Fortunately, I was still able to enjoy the great weather which has finally arrived. I appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanks
I've a 90 & I don't have my FSM handy but I remember that there is a terminal block(?) at the back of the main instrument cluster that has a plug that goes to it....maybe no help at all, sorry.
I have only had my center water fall & console apart an I noticed on my 90 that ther are a lot of wires in a very cramped space....to me that's a disaster waiting to happen on re-assembly....ya know the possibility of pinching a power or a ground wire???
I recently recarpted my '84 Vette (looks great I must say) but after I got it all put together and started it up, my instrument panel lights flickered light mad. After trying a new ECM (no effect), I just gave up for the moment and went ahead putting in a new window switch. Now I don't have the flicker anymore. I guess the good lord thought I'd had enough. I detest problems I can't figure out but I thought I'd share.
