I just installed my new heads today and while tightening one of the rocker studs the guide plate broke, I called Edelbrock and they offered to send me a new one tomorrow with no questions asked! These heads are really slick and thats what I call customer service! I got a really cool jacket too. :yesnod:
Being in the customer service industry (CSR for Walmart.com), I would have to say that Edelbrock displayed a wonderful feat of customer service. I give them a thumbs up and a
Wow...a guide broke from tightening the rocker stud?
Ok, Eldebrock did good to replace it for you...but it shouldn't have broken...thats just wild. ( BTW: a whole set of hardened guideplates only runs between $15-$21 from most speed shops ).
FoolCrzy, we've got just about the same engine, cept cam and the intake/exhaust, yet :jester Love the heads too, just make sure you have the right pushrods, I got too small of ones and caught the mistake just in time
I bought the suggested .100 " longer pushrods but when I ordered the head bolt washers from chevy (as the instructions said to)they only ordered me 20! and charged $22 for them:crazy: I was going to order more but ran across a performance machine shop that sold me an entire set for $5!!!!! :D I also found out this guy sells custom ground hydraulic roller cams for $250 lifters included! :bb oh well too late now my cam is already installed. :cry I believe the guideplate was already cracked and when I adjusted it it just fell apart. ( I am a quality auditor I know these things can happen) the best part is they will be sending me a new one directly without even making me send the old one in.
Edelbrock has very good customer service. Crane is very good too. I got a set or roller rockers with the wrong nuts and they 2nd day aired a new set, without getting the old ones back, to Hawaii.
