Well the heck with you too, but when you make inane statements about "flow restrictions" that the industry hasn't seen as a problem, it is ME that you at MOST likely to hear from. Obviously you DIDN'T consider the flow route when you started the inane comments.
RACE ON!!!
The flow route has nothing to do with the apparent restriction that has the OP worried. It is the close proximitiy of the cooler to the hose port on the radiator tank that presents the apparent problem, and that is not a function of flow route. Tom DeWitt understands this, and I understand it. Evidently, you do not.
I had the same concern when I examined the new OEM radiator that I installed in my six-speed LT1 car last year, and I even posted a query about this very issue before I was comfortable installing that radiator. From the outside, it wasn't obvious that it was the cooler that was sitting just inside of the hose port, and the port does look significantly restricted by this, especially when compared to the original six-speed radiator that has no blockage at all.
I see nothing inane about the OP's statements or concerns, and I think it is you who made the inaccurate assumptions.
Update: I finally set the time aside to button up the my car and even with all the things I mucked with: entire rear suspension, differential, drive shafts, ignition, air pump, egr block offs, headers, exhaust, PCM; the subject radiator has been the only thorn in my side.
The new radiator has smaller inlet and outlet ports than the original, why! The old stretched hoses were way too big so I bought new ones and they seemed ok, but now that I have it on the road guess who's top hose keeps sliding off the radiator? I tried ditching the oem clamp in favor of the worm gear version, but I can still pull it without much effort and it leaks anyway. I drove the leaky SOB to every autoparts store in town trying to match a hose with the same bend and smaller diameter, nothing! This is the most ridicuolus thing I've ever seen. I haven't tried a GM hose yet, that's tomorrow. Anyone faced this yet.

I wish it was out when I bought mine. I really want an oil cooler, and a in the radiator design, helps warm it up, and then keep it from getting too cold.

I have the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?
There is an adapter sleave available. If I used my original hose, it fit inside it perfectly but I went ahead and replaced the hose. I had to put the hose (with insert) into boiling hot water to loosen it up enough to get it on the radiator.
