Heater Shutoff Control Valve

Hey guys,
A buddy needs a heater shutoff control valve for an 87. The stealership said its no longer available. Does anyone know of a source for a used one, or a homemade fix that would still allow him to defog his windows?

You can look in our own, C4 Parts For Sale/Wanted section, search eBay, or simpler and cheaper yet, just bypass and eliminate it. Also, you can do a search. There was a similar thread, here, recently, and there were suggestions on substitutes. Mine has been eliminated.

Mine doesn't have one either. Defog will not be changed, that is a function of the A/C compressor.

Do a search. I remember a thread recently that someone provided a link to new aftermarket ones in the $70 range.
