I have had problems lately with the tires getting low on pressure.
I decided to check this out and found out that one of my wheels is broken. A little fracture runs just at the edge on the inner aspect of the wheel.
Whould you repair this wheel or no way you would trust a repaired wheel?
It is suppossed to brace aluminum to a very high strenght, equivalent to mig soldering.
The wheel has been already been fixed, and for the meanwhile it will be a just for now solution until I get my hands on other wheels.
I have an offer of a C5 wheel set, but I doubt if handling will be good because it uses 17" on front and 18" at the back.
OMG! I had the exact same thing happen to me on the same wheels! It SUCKS! I just bough a set of wheels and tires though - but I wasn't about to drive the car with a fractured wheel! Get a used wheel - or get a new set of wheels and tires. You'll need tires eventually anyway.
The C-5 Z06, and many of us forum members, run the 17"-18" combination. Possibly; if you're a hard-core autocross racer, i've heard there might be an advantage with 17" all around. I don't think you'll lose any handling if you go that route on the street.
