Default vapor line insight needed =)

this post was originally going to be a PM to Vinnies87 (however i think iv hasseled him enuff for one week )

the car is an 87 vert.

i have a FSM on order but my woman isnt going to let me have it until my b day late may..

have you any experiance with the coffee can shaped cannister in the front left bumper area?
you can see it when you open the hood..
i suspect its the fuel vapor cannister and i was mucking around up by there and noticed on the bottom of the cannister is a vacuum line that exits it and goes to a "T" ...neither short (6-8 inch) vacuum lines that are connected to the "T" are plugged into anything..( i looked around for something they should be plugged into) i know GM did some wacky things but i cant see those lines just being there for no reason.. any insights you can offer me?
id sure appreciate it!

Bret

ps : im reading all the archived "vapor cannister" posts now in hopes of enlightenment

Those hoses are for excess fuel vapors and or fuel that might need to escape the canister in case it can't vent back into the engine. I don't know why they put a "T" on this line, as straight line would accomplish the same goal. I have the same setup on my 87, found it when I replaced the canister.

Hope this helps
