Default Nitrous

100 horsepower should be a great place to start and gradually turn it up if you want. Your nitrous will add instant torque which may challenge your car a little so ease into the higher level nitrous jets gradually.

JohnWayne,

It really depends on your goal and your budget...also how often you plan to use the nitrous system. A basic nitrous system with a low nitrous jetting is pretty safe as the kit comes and as you increase the power level of the nitrous setting you will want to look at other options. I sent you a PM.

Generally, I was told it was safe to add 20 HP per cylinder with Nitrous. Basically this means 160 on a V8, but since they don't make jets for 160, a 150 shot is about where you wanna be with a stock engine.

The super ram has horrible nitrous distribution problems. If you plan to stick with that intake, direct port is pretty much your only option. If you use the 'normal' single/dual nozzle before/after the throttle body, you'll most likely lean out a cylinder and cook the engine.

You could probably do a dry system and make it work, but adding 150 HP or more with a dry kit is more than what most consider 'normal' for a dry shot. A 75 or 100 HP dry shot is more mainstream and probably doable.

As far as quarter mile times, it's impossible to even guess. We don't know what kind of transmission you have, stall, clutch, gears, vehicle weight, what kind of dyno produced your RWHP numbers, how the car hooks, what kind of tire you are running, the elevation of your track, and thousands of other things that will affect ET.

Shooting from the hip, in the dark, I'd guess your car is capable of mid to low 12's on motor. Assuming you can get it to hook and cut a ~1.7 sixty foot time. On the bottle, with a 75 HP dry shot, you should pick up about half a second.

As far as what is a safe amount of bottle for you, it's impossible to say with the information you've given. We don't know what kind of pistons, crank, rods, quench, bearing clearance, cam specs, heads, or any other of a zillion things that will determine the absolute extreme amount of N20 you can use. 100 HP is probably a safe bet, but with out any details none of us can say for sure. Hell, a 50 shot done wrong can destroy the engine.

Give us some more information, and we'll do what we can to help you. Right now you're asking for answers that no one here can give you.

Direct port is not possible on SR as space is too tight but can be done, will be expensive though, iam with neat he has extensive knowledge in nitrous as well as nitroussam.

I installed NOS 05151 on my 383/SR car and ran with 150 shot, car ran ok but was sputtering too much fuel i guess i need to turn it down, i was running 13.20 all motor on that day for some reason, but when i use nitrous ran 12.08, all motor pretty much 12.4-12.6 consistent on other days.
