For the last month or so I've been noticing a small puddle on my intake manifold right below #6 cyl injector, I haven't been able to verify a leak in the injector but I don't know where else it could come from. Also every once in a while it cranks too long. So I guess it's time to take it apart, here's the question, should I buy new or reman injectors or just replace o-rings, i don't know if the injectors are original or not it's an 86 with 66,000 miles. It's a little work to get them out so I'm thinking replace them..what do you guys recommend. I have done minor mods re: 1.6 roller rockers/LT-4 springs MDS ign. also has new wires, cap, pick up mod, plugs, rebuilt t/b etc. Thanks in advance. Rich
Couple things I'd do first, a fuel pressure test and then ohm the injectors both hot and cold. If everything checks out good it might just be a seal, are you sure it's gas? If it does turn out to be injectors and it's not a daily driver I'd have them rebuilt.

Thanks, I'll check pressure and ohms, I'm pretty sure it's fuel, It's definetly not coolant.
Let's say one or more of your injectors are bad. This is a good way to find out. If he can't get any one of them to flow correctly then at least you know which injectors to replace. In my case they all came back to me within spec and the car runs great.
Thanks for the help guys, I can't seem to find cruizinperformance.com. a site comes up with multiple choices for auto parts/repair. can you clarify address, also will a set of injectors out of an 89 fit in my 86L
Here is the email address for Rich Jensen at Cruzinperformance: rich@cruzinperformance.com. His phone number is: 231-796-5705.
The injectors used in Corvette years 89 - 91 are called GM Multecs and they have a high failure rate due to the turns of coil wire shorting out to each other (called shorting) If you call Rich, ask him about using a set of 89 injectors in your car
Have you removed the injectors in your Corvette prior to this issue?

Thanks Sam, No the injectors are still in, other then the leak I'm seeing the engine runs great, I had a chance to get some 89 injectors and then I could have sent them to Rich for cleaning and install them, save some downtime, but it's not my DD so I'll just pull my injectors and send them, thanks for good info on 89 inj

You know the more I look at it and smell it it could be oil but I can't imagine how it could puddle in the manifold, there no sign of leakage anywhere, is it possible for oil to seep up through the manifold bolt ??
