Holley Stealth Ram
Stealth Ram MPFI System, 24 lb/hr Injectors,300-385 HP Range
Polished Finish. What is the performance difference over the stock TPI
intake. I was told I needed to remove the restrictive intake system looked at the SR and while the performance comments are good, my understanding it is a nightmare to avoid gasket leaking.

No problem, CF needs a sticky regarding the MR, SR and HSR for sure.
To the best of my knowledge, GrumpyVette preceeded others with the
creation of a modified HSR plenum for fitment under a stock C4 hood.
The modified plenum was a source of many heated threads beginnning
in '03. Those archived threads are available for review through the
use of the CF Advanced Search feature.

Read about LD85's Holley Stealth Ram
or the cost to prep and paint the new hood. My vote is that changing
the hood would lead to two or more thousand dollars being spent.
Read LD85's thread in the link above and follow along as he fabricates
his version of the plenum. My vote is that appearance of the final
product speaks for itself.
To the best of my knowledge, Holley/Weiand only sells the Stealth Ram
as a package consisting of the base & plenum, AFAIK, the base is not
sold separately. Therefore, might as well make use of the included
plenum rather than have it collecting dust on a shelf.
If a vendor modified the thermostat housing as part of a plenum
package, it looks like an interested party starting with an OEM TPI
would need the following to swap to an HSR:
- an HSR intake and the HSR fuel rails
- work to modify the plenum and thermostat housing
- small dist & remote coil
- suitable injectors (=> 24# rating)
- fittings
A discussion of miscellaneous HSR considerations occured in a post
in this thread (ignore the Super Ram title of the thread). In addition
to part numbers for conventional heads, the intake p/n#'s for Vortec
heads is also listed.
With part numbers from the links provided, a budget for the swap can
be compiled by doing a little research at forum supporter Jegs or your
favorite performance parts supplier.
