Well, I did it. I bought a Hypertech Power Programmer III and reprogramed her computer. I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical about getting it though. I looked around for information on the program and found that it works well on some, but not all vehicles. Well, mine must be one of the ones that it DOES work well on. I knew she was fast before, but she is REALLY faster with the programmer! The shifting is better than ever, don't get me wrong, she was good before, but now she's excellent. I guess I'll put the 160 degree thermostat in soon so I can change those settings also. You will never hear bad things about Hypertech Power Programmers from me. I'm satisfied! :)
Jimmy is right ;)
Ask him to email you the HPP vs Stock timing tables. In addition to what he said they
also pull timing from the upper rpms.
I'm happy with my (used $150) programmer for the simple reasons of re-programming the fans with the Tstat & correcting the spedo when I did the gear change. The shift improver program actually seems to help as well.

Re: Power Programmer (TorchRedXCVI)
You know alot of people really talked bad about this product but me for one (and Panuzzo) have had great luck with ours. We did some extensive testing and found some performance gaines over stock tuning with a stock motor and any gain is important. I will admitt it would never work properly with my current set up but thats not what your asking it to do. With a lightly modded vette they will work fine.
Now I wish I hadn't sold mine. I guess I should've waited until I ran my car to see if it actually worked. i couldn't tell just by driving the car on the street.
