ignition switch stuck! Stranded at Work!

ignition switch stuck! Stranded at Work!
It finally happened! The ignition switch on my '84 stuck and I cannot turn it either way with the key. Limited tools at my disposal - how can I remedy this?
I guess I will have to hot wire just to get home. Never Hot wired anything before. How do I do it? :confused:

I wondered about my key. I'll try to get my spear delivered from home. My wife is probably at the mall already so It may be easier to overhaul the entire car in the parking lot!

this is gonna sound really STUPID, but ive seen it twice in the last couple months.
Is it possible that your steering wheel wasnt straight when you shut off?
grab the wheel... turn it left/right while trying the key.
even happened to me....but in my beater
