Trans Shifting Hard, Speed Sensor code?
The tranny just went out of my 86 last week. I just picked it up last night from the shop and everything seemed fine. This morning pulled out of the drive way and the speedo was not working, just reading 0. I also noticed that the trans was not shifting like normal. It would stay in 1st and 2nd for high rpms and slam into 2nd from 1st and especially going into 3rd. If you feather the gas a little you can allow it to upshift without reving up high. After going down the road a little further the service eng. soon light came on. I scanned codes and it read 24 and 32. 24 is the speed sensor code correct? And i believe 32 is egr related. Is the speed sensor causing these problems? I there anything that the tranny shop could have done wrong to make this go out? Thanks, MIKE.

check your speedo cable, I heard of some gears that turn that cable get "apple cored", or it may not be connected right. I think your trans is good, its that on some autos the trans relys on the speed sensor to shift.

No expert here, but maybe the TV cable is out of adjustment. Hopefully Pete K will step in.
