the bracket does not have to be from a vette correct? hit the junk yard and find a trashed impala and scab the bracket off that. i dont think they have sticks in those. just remember when at wot the tv cable should be maxed out and use the pedal the do wot not your hand on the linkage.
i wish i saw this earlier.. i did this swap on a 1991 camaro with a 700r4 and it wasn't too bad.. the tv cable should adjust fine.. i had no issue at all with that.
If you are not sure of the proper adjustment on your trans cable ,some good insurance in not burning up your trans is a constant pressure valve body by TCI.Summit has them in there catalogue for$230 not bad for the piece of mind.
I did an LT1 swap into my 84 so you should be able to use the same setup as me. You need a 94-up SS Impala Throttle Cable, a 93 style throttle adapter from S&P or a 92/93 LT1 TB, 93 Camaro Throttle Bracket and a lock up kit for your converter. Give them a call as it has been a few years
Here is how I did it. My throttle body is the 94/96 style. I made my own linkage bracket as these (94/96) throttle bodies did not have provisions for the TV cable. Hotrod Lane also sells them as stated above.
The TV cable and bracket is from a 93 Camaro. The throttle cable is from a 95 Camaro. Because of the geometry involved...it's important to use the specific 93 TV cable. You can also see in the pictures the modification needed to the stud for the fuel rail cover as the TV cable runs right in the path of the cover stud.

Reason: more info.
Guys today have it so much easier... hell, back when I started building/racing cars, oftentimes you HAD to "manufacture" or modify your parts as you couldn't jump on the Net, call up Scummit, etc. and have your solution inhand. Those of us who could, did... and that's what separated the runners from the posers.
OK, I am going to apologize in advance for this. Both to Mr. NICE (OP) and RacerX70CC.
But I just have to ask.
Did you have to walk up hill, both ways to school? In the SNOW? With no SHOES?
