hey guys---need your help again. Read a paper on internet from one Lars Grimsrud on www.batee.com Good article on setting up your TPI and IAC. I know it is probably on this site somewhere--but I did search and could not find. He says to set your idle up with in drive against the brake at 450 RPM---seems low to me. After setting my TPI up to .540 VDC---my idle is lower at 500 RPM but it seems to be too low--mind you it is running extremely well. 1986 C4 Coupe L98--High energy Comp Cam--just rebuilt. I have also broken (brittle) vaccuum line between the fuel regulator and the AIR valves up front---do I need the vaccuum line re hooked up to these AIR valves??? I have just blocked it off from the fuel regulator for now. Where do I get these small plastic lines (especially the two into one splitter??) thanx guys---alway apprieciate you guys!!!

450 rpm is the base idle, with the IAC harness disconnected. The engine should idle at whatever the target idle is programmed to in the chip (stock or custom?).

I agree with byebyeL98. Those vac lines can be found at Napa. You can also replace those plastic lines with rubber lines. I would have it fixed, so not to worry about it causing problems with leaks.

When setting my minimal idle (IAC extended and disconnected), my engine sound like it was going to die. Once the IAC is reconnnected, the ECM will use it to get the desired idle in the chip.
