Could it be a bad injector?

Default Could it be a bad injector?

My Ruby has had a miss.
Thought it was the opti, replaced it, miss is still there.
Thought it may be a bad valve, did a leak down test all was OK
How do you test the injectors?

hm... thought you had already done this... you had done SO much...

ok, glad the leak down was ok!!!!

remove the rails, put a little paper cup under each injector, and have someone start the motor (coil disconnected). watch for the spray pattern...

Is there a way to do a resistance check?

Easier way to test is to stick a screwdriver against each injector while the engine is running. If you can feel clicking then the injector is probably ok.

Did that with a finger, they all clicked.

Then its possible that it could be a gummed up injector or something of that nature. Have you tried running any fuel injector cleaner?

you can check the impedance at each of the injectors, remove the electrical cap off the injector, they should optimally read 16.5 ohms and no more than 1 ohm difference between injectors. Readings below 12.0 are not good.

Right, and in case it's not obvious (it wasn't to me): to remove the electrical connector you need to push the metal clip in towards the injector and then pull the connector off.
