I have a 94 corvette LT-1 corvette. I replaced the cat on the passenger side and when I was driving it home it died. I could get it started so I had it towed to the muffler shop I had the cat installed. They said it was pulling a code 16. So I replaced the optispark, still nothing, I ran some test and replace the ignition control module, still nothing. I checked for spark, it has spark. I check the fuel pressure, it has 40 lbs. I check the injecters for pulse, they all have pulse. I check the injectors with an ohm tester they are have the same ohms. I bought a brand new acdelco optispark. I cleared the codes and check for any new code. It is now pulling a code 42. Which is EST (electronic spark timing) my flow chart says check the wires from the ECM to the ignition modual, replace the ignition module which I did. It also say replace the ECM. It cranks over but will not fire. Does anyone have any suggestions first before I replace the computer. Please help me.

? are you getting spark at the spark plug.
Did you check the oil and see if it has a fuel smell to it?
The fuel presure should be 43.5 with the vaccum disconected.
So you have any vaccum leaks?
You say it has spark. That means the opti, PCM, ICM and Ing coil are basically working. I just don’t know the amount of spark you have. Should be able to pull about a ½ inch spark. If you can do this, there is a good possibility when the opti was replaced, you did not get the shafts (splines) lined up correctly. If even off 2 teeth, it might not fire.
Did you do the work? And always start the engine before water pump is installed. At what point is the assembly at?
It only goes in one way. The little teeth I mean so that the opti spart is flush with the timing cover. Is it posible that if in deed the spines are off that it would still be flush with the timing cover.

Yes, if you used the bolts to pull it in.
Many have mis-aligned the teeth and said the same. It can be mis-aligned. The opti when aligned properly, it should slide on easy, hit the cover with a tink and lay flush. The bolts should not be used to pull the opti to the cover, but only to hold it in place. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to pull it apart and check it. Then assemble carefully again.
Start engine with no water pump to make sure it starts and runs. Need the connect MAF and temp sensor temporally for test.
