Breadbox...top dash should come off and the 2 lower kick panels to give you access to the 4 bolts which hold it on. I think they are 13 mm. Not the easiest job in the word; I believe its the lower left that will give you the most hassle.

Shifter button (for an auto) is held in place with a recessed snap ring. Remove it, and the button will slide right off.

Im having trouble getting the snap ring removed. Any advice for that? Also, besides the 2 bolts at the top middle dash around the vents, where are the other bolts that hold on the top dash pad? any advice would be appreciated.

There is a wire bail at the front of the seat pad housing. Pop this down and back (a wooden or plastic stick makes this easier), and you will be able to lift the seat pad right out. Four bolts will then be visible that mount the entire seat to the adjuster rails. Remove those four bolts and you can remove the seat. You may not be able to remove the remaining seat rails without being able to move them forward and back to access the bolts that mount them to the chassis pan, but with the seat itself out you will have lots of extra space to work with and you can put a piece of plywood or some furniture blankets over the rails to give yourself a smooth surface to rest on.

This, is actually my prefered method of removing the seats, even if I will be removing the rails as a second step. Much easier to maneuver the seats out of the car this way, and much less likely to do any damage when doing so. To attach the seat pad bail latter, run some webbing around the wire and feed it out the front of the seat housing. Then just pull up and the wire bail will effortlessly snap into place. You can do it without the webbing, but it takes some significant finger strength. Hope this helps.

I just removed 89 Sport seats and installed 94 Std seats.

Advice for whatever you have:

Move seat ALL the way back and adjust it UP as high as it will go, You can get at the front ones with either a wrench or a ratchet. I think the passenger side one only let me do one with the ratchet, I had to wrench the other one.

The backs are easier though, Move the seat ALL the way forward, then just get a deep socket and a few extensions and knock youself out.

You will also need to unplug the wiring harness to the seats, if you look under the front, or just feel around, you will feel a metal wire like hanger thing sticking out the bottom front, just as it starts to curve under the seat, its still in the plastic housing/trim in the front, so don't go too far under.

Simply push this clip thing back up under the lip of the plastic it is hanging over (takes a few tries with the tips of your fingers) then the seat cushion just lifts right out. Unplug any harnesses that are in the way of removing the seat from the car.

As long as your gears arent stripped and you can move it completely forward/backward for easier bolt access, then you can pull them in and out in a matter of minutes.

Good point dont unplug the power until all four nuts are off so you can move the seat front and back then unplug!!!
