I know this subject has been discussed many times before, but my seat belt light stays on and I can't figure out how to get it out without pulling the dash and removing the bulb. This started out as a INFL REST code, which I tried repeatedly to clear, with no success. Finally I managed to get the INFL REST light out by removing the bulb, but still have the seat belt light stareing at me.I've heard this is a common problem on the 90 vettes and was hoping someone out there would know a cure.Is there a wire somewhere that I can disconnect to get the light out?I really don't want to have to pull the dash out to get to the bulb. This is a 90 coupe and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
the seat belt light is tied into the infl. light sys, so when the infl. light is on the seat belt light is on. my 90 is same way i cleaned the crash sensors but the infl. light came back on so i taped over infl. light but i have not figured out what to do about s/b light
I know the seat belt light is tied to the INFL REST light. The INFL code I got was a code 42,which is an open circuit in the indicator lamp circuit.I think this code was triggered after I removed the driver information center without disconnecting the battery.I don't think it has anything to do with the crash sensors.I tried repeatedly to clear the code (which makes both the INFL and seat belt light go out)and had no success. When all else failed,I removed the bulb for the INFL but still have the seat belt light on.I found some info in the C-4 tech tips, but it refers to the crash sensors being the problem, which I don't think is the case here.Still trying to figure this out,so if anybody has any more info,I would appreciate it.Thanks for the input
ya,I saw the tech tip on clearing the INFL code, but I've already tried that many times. What I'm looking for is a way to disconnect the power to seat belt light bulb. Thanks for the input.
